Student Interim Reports
Simple sketches help scaffold the design thinking of
both beginning and expert designers. While a tech ed
teacher might require students to place of measurements
(called "dimensions") or use hidden lines to show more
details of a design, math and science students benefit
from making a simple sketch accompanied by an explanation.
The Interim Reports on this page will show you what
students' work might look like mid-way through the parachute
unit. Some teachers have students create a page for
each design they come up with and then test. The Learning
By Design curriculum template pages for Design
Diaries that enable students to collect test data
and sketches for each design attempted.
