Case-Based Reasoning
Janet Kolodner, professor at Georgia Tech's College
of Computing, did her early work in artificial intelligence,
and developed a way that machines could learn from examples
to improve their ability to plan and solve problems.
Case-Based Reasoning was an approach that involved selecting
cases from which learn, naming or indexing parts of
the case to make retrieval easier, making connections
between cases and learning from failure.
MOVIE 1 has Janet talking about CBR and how she applied
it to her more recent work in designing middle-school
science curriculum, specifically her Learning
By Design program.
