Day 2 - Adding Capacity
With some experimental and design experience under
their belt, students continue to explore key electromagnet
variables. They have now seen how changes in design
can yield increased loads. Yet often, in their excitement
to produce wildly improved results, students will fail
to control variables in the design experiments they
conduct. When placed in an engaging context that also
requires good scientific methodology, students often,
not always, miss the prize. How can this key learning
objective become the subject of
Formative Assessment is important for planning your
Electromagnet lessons.
Students also need to see the gaping differences between
making random guesses as to what to do next, and making
choices based on data or being informed in other valid
ways. What type of decision-making do you see in MOVIE
1?
